            <description><![CDATA[Radically increasing access to information and scientific evidence on health, particularly in developing regions, is the main reason that led the World Health Organization (WHO) promote the creation of the Global Health Library (GHL), which is part of its strategy of knowledge management in global public health.<br />

All international organizations and an increasing number of national governments have considered democratic and universal access to updated scientific information an essential condition for progress in general. Moreover, they also take into account improvement of life conditions, particularly towards better individual and collective health, as well as development and strengthening of national research, education and healthcare systems.<br />
